trade in phone best buy

It's no secret that we're big fans of the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Both phones are refined in design and targeted camera upgrades help the Pixel 7 Pro truly stand out from the more reasonably-sized and reasonably-priced Pixel 7. Retailers seem to really like them a lot too, as they've been running promotions on both models from the preorder window through the official launch and up to now. Google Store is offering trade-in deals while Amazon is offering gift cards, so Best Buy decided to up the ante by offering both.

Right now, you can get up to $650 off the Pixel 7 Pro with select trade-in devices, and the Pixel 7 can get up to $600 off with the right trade-in. This means with the right phone to trade in, Best Buy will basically give you a Pixel 7 flagship for free. Best Buy had been including Best Buy gift cards with purchase, but that promotion has expired.

An important note on trade-ins here is that they cannot exceed the value of the phone, so if you try to trade in say an iPhone 11 Pro Max, you might not be able to trade it for a Pixel 7, but you can trade it in for a Pixel 7 Pro.

However, it's the Galaxy S22 Ultra that made the biggest splash upon release. Samsung's top-of-the-line phone introduced the S Pen to the S series for the first time, paying homage to the now-canceled Galaxy Note.

Most carriers and retailers are offering some form of S22 deal right now, especially if you've got an older device you're looking to trade in. We've rounded up the best Galaxy S22 deals that you can shop and we will continue to update this page as new offers become available, so keep checking back if your carrier or preferred retailer is not listed below.

Samsung's site is the obvious place to buy its Galaxy phones. It offers all the device configurations and has multiple payment options, plus it offers carrier and unlocked models so you can choose between buying the phone outright, through carrier payments or financing it through Samsung, depending on your preference.

As of right now, Samsung isn't offering any direct discounts on unlocked models, though it is guaranteeing trade-in credits for both functioning and damaged devices. Those trading in a device in good condition will get at least $160 in trade-in credit toward the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus, or at least $85 for damaged devices. Those trading in for the S22 Ultra will get at least $265 for devices in good condition, and at least $145 for damaged devices. You can earn plenty more depending on what devices you trade-in, however, with the latest iPhones netting you as much as $660.

If you don't want the headache of navigating carriers, plans and installment payments, you'll want an unlocked phone that you can purchase outright. While there are not direct deals on S22 models right now, you can save up $105 on the S22 Plus or $400 on the S22 Ultra. Just note that discounts jump around quite a bit between different colors and configurations.

Since the new S23 series went live, Verizon has reduced its deals on the S22 series, but is still offering a few ways to save. You'll receive a free $200 Verizon gift card when you bring your existing number from another carrier. Verizon is also offering a bonus with the purchase of any Galaxy S22 phone, taking up to $100 off a pair of Galaxy Buds 2.

Best Buy offers support for Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile upgrades and new lines both in-store and online, which means you can take advantage of some carrier offers on the S22 Ultra at the moment. You can save up to $300 through Verizon or $250 through either AT&T or T-Mobile with a new line of service. If you prefer an unlocked model, Best Buy is also offering $300 off the S22 Ultra, though you'll have to choose same-day activation to get the discount (essentially defeating the point of an unlocked phone). Best Buy also has its own trade-in program where you can save even more.

Customers who are on the Magenta Max plan can save up to $800 on all three models, scoring you the standard S22 for free when adding a new line of service on your existing Magenta Max plan. Those without a Magenta Max plan can still save up to $400 when adding a new line on another qualifying service plan. And if you've got an old device to trade in, you can save up to $400 if you have or switch to an eligible plan.

Boost Mobile is offering new and existing customers an excellent deal on Galaxy S22 devices. For a limited time, the carrier is offering a nice discount that brings the base price of the 128GB Galaxy S22 down to only $350, $450 off the usual price. Unfortunately, the S22 Plus and Ultra are completely sold out at the moment, and only select configurations of the S22 are still in stock. Since Boost Mobile is a prepaid carrier, you will need to buy the phone outright, but at this pricing it's well worth it.

Receive up to $504 promo credit ($180 w/Welcome Unlimited, $360 w/ 5G Start, or $504 w/5G Do More, 5G Play More, 5G Get More or One Unlimited for iPhone plan (Welcome Unlimited and One Unlimited for iPhone plans can't be mixed w/other Unlimited plans; all lines on the account req'd on respective plans)) when you add a new smartphone line with your own 4G/5G smartphone on an eligible postpaid plan between 2/10/23 and 4/5/23. Promo credit applied over 36 months; promo credits end if eligibility requirements are no longer met.

I am planning on pre-ordering the Note 8, but I want to do so with Best Buy because they offer an additional $150 discount. However, when I put the pre-order into my Best Buy cart, there is nowhere to enter a trade-in option (I would like to claim the $330 dollar promo value for my Galaxy S6 Edge). I read somewhere that if you upgrade with Best Buy, you can still get the promo value by logging into My Verizon after activation of the Note 8 and selecting the trade-in there. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks!

If the Verizon trade for $330 requires you to get the payment plan or anything else then, to keep things as seamless as possible you should do it all through Verizon and that way it can be easily traced.

I pre-ordered thru Best Buy. The Note 8 needs to be activated prior to trade-in and the fine print from Best Buy states to perform the trade in at vzw.com. I tried this and the site displayed an error every time I tried (every day since I received my phone early on Sep. 6). I asked a rep via chat what I should do. They said I should go to a Verizon store and ask them to process the trade. I went to the store only for them to tell me they couldn't process the trade since I bought the phone at Best Buy (I tried to explain it's a VERIZON promotion, but they stood by their word). I called Verizon Customer Service from the parking lot and they walked me through the process on the website again. It failed again. They asked, again, to have a store associate process it for me. This time, while phone rep was on speaker phone, the store manager processed the trade. I let the customer service rep go since the store manager assured me he now understood what needed to be done. Here's the tricky part. The trade was only processed for $190 - as a gift card. I was told not to use the gift card and he would 'take care of it'. Upon returning home, I called customer service again to let them know what ended up happening. They said this is actually what was supposed to happen - the value of the phone will not show the promotional value until the phone is received by the Verizon warehouse and verified to be in good condition. In other words, the store will need to ship my trade-in to the corporate warehouse and when they receive it, the $480 credit ($20/month over 24 months) will be applied to my bill. I was instructed again to NOT use the gift card. To me, they're making things WAY more complicated than they need to be and not having ANY confirmation of any kind that I will obtain the $480 credit - not even a receipt for the trade - makes me a little nervous. Curious to hear what other people's experiences were like.

Congrats on your new phone bgblktruck. I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience trading in your phone. We should never send you to different places to resolve one issue. What phone did you trade in?

Bgblktruck, thanks so much for letting us know what phone you traded in and explaining to us the process that you went through. Did the store manager indicate they were sending the phone in on your behalf? Did you get a trade in submission ID?

The store manager wasn't sure what to do, but said he'd "take care of it" for me. I was not provided with a trade in submission ID. Should I call him and ask him for one? If so, are there additional details I should provide as well? Thank you.

Unlike some other buyback programs (including us), one of the advantages of using Best Buy Trade-In is the ability to complete your trade-in at a Best Buy store. Thanks to a sprawling network of storefronts in the US, Mexico, and Canada, you can easily walk into a physical location to trade. 041b061a72
